Snowflake Challenge, Day 1, 3, 5
It's been a while since I've done ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
snowflake_challenge, and I'd really like to do some of the challenges this year. I say some because day two's activity is to share something in fandom that has changed your life, and I don't feel very passionate about some of the fannish things that lead me to fandom any more. I'm skipping that day. And I won't mention day 4's friending activity here, as I'll add some people through the challenge or from something else. But right now I'm posting day 1, 3, and 5.
Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I went with a theme of "fics for dead exchanges and bangs" for my self-recs.
Invasion of the Ice Warriors [Doctor Who, River/Eleven, PG | AO3 | Teaspoon] The Doctor and River are in Paris to spend a Christmas together. A sudden snowfall hits Paris, and it's up to the Doctor and River to find out who's behind the snowfall. But there may be more forces at work against them both.... (For christmasbang.)
Nature Working Within [Orphan Black, Helena/Grace Johanssen, Mature] Helena and Grace fight back against Henrik together. AU of the Helena & Grace plot of "Things Which Have Never Yet Been Done." (A fic that was for Ship Swap, but my recipient deleted their signup in the middle of the exchange.)
Detective and the Ghosts [Burn Notice, Michael Westen/Fiona Glenanne/Sam Axe/Jesse Porter, Teen] With Michael, Fiona, and Charlie presumed dead, Sam and Jesse visit the three in Ireland. A highway robber and the jailbreak of an old foe of the team changes their lives forever. (For polybigbang. Mix has been newly recreated and uploaded to YouTube, by the way [because of 8tracks' new streaming restrictions].)
Day 3
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
My first fannish goal is to cut back on big bangs, exchanges, and challenges, to work on other things. At the moment I'm signed up for a couple of fanwork fests at a couple of comms. I think I'll end up doing about 3-4 exchanges max for exchanges I like (the same ones I did last year?), one big bang I hope returns (iddyiddybangbang), and a handful of fests. Starting with those first two. And I'm going to cut back on claiming pinch hits, too.
My second fannish goal is to read more. That's it.
