merryghoul: bird in head (bird in head)
[personal profile] merryghoul
(because IDK if you want to be called "Santa" or not)

I guess I should explain how I ended up writing fanfiction.

I created my LJ nearly a year ago because I'm an incredibly vain person and I wanted to archive a porny fic I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] gossipgirlanon .  From that point on I started to work on non-smutty fics.

I take a "what if" approach to writing fic.  Sometimes I come up with ideas on my own, but I usually look at prompts (Porn Battle/kink memes/[livejournal.com profile] comment_fic /bingo challenges) and add elements to the canon that don't exist in it, like cock cages and Bjork robots, for example, to see how the characters react.

I'm usually not a fan of fics where the characters are living a domestic life--having babies, visiting the family, etc. al.  (That is, if my internal editor is not turned off by grammar and spelling mistakes as well if something in the fic matches a pet peeve of mine first.  I think it's best I leave my pet peeves out for this letter.)  I tend to write and prefer action and comedy-based fics.  (And action with a bit of comedy.)

Oh, and characters: I really like writing POCs in fic.  I would've done Kaleidoscope, but I couldn't think of enough fandoms to participate.

Parings
In order of preference:
  1. Gen
  2. Femslash
  3. Het
  4. Slash
Don't let that limit you from writing slash if your heart's desire is slash, though.

Ratings
Up to NC-17 is fine.

Preferred Genres
  • angst
  • h/c
  • fluff
  • porn with plot
  • PWP
  • alternate universes
My Squicks
  • vomitplay
  • scatplay
Other than that, I really am open to any kink.

Kinks I Really Like
  • messy kinks (water, food, dirt, etc.)
  • watersports
  • enemas
  • anal play
  • female squirting
Of course, you're not obligated to include any kinks in the story, especially if it wouldn't make sense within the fic.  The kinks list is there for your convenience.

In general, please no:
  • darkfic (seriously, please, no darkfic)
  • babyfic/fics focused on pregnancy (including MPreg)
  • deathfic/character(s) dying in fic (at least for a gift for the holidays)--canonical deaths are okay; I don't want a character dying in the middle of the fic
  • character bashing (I tend to like the majority of characters in my fandoms)
I included the characters I nominated on my Yuletide list, but by no means are you obligated to adhere to this list.  I only ask that you leave out that one pairing I'm mentioning in my Nikita request.

Nikita (2010 version)

Characters I Specifically Nominated: Nikita, Alex, Amanda, Jaden (RIP)

Reference: a fic I wrote for Kink Bingo (Amanda and Alex, set in S1)

Why I Like This Show/Fandom: I'm a sucker for action shows, and new Nikita is my favorite action show on the air currently.  The writers know how to balance drama and action to keep viewers hooked.  (Sadly, the ratings and the Friday night death slot it's been given do not reflect this.  In fact, Nikita is the only show I watch on the CW these days--I'm frustrated with the rest of the CW's schedule.)  Also, this show has strong female characters.  The females are in a position of leadership and can hold their own in a fight without relying on a (male) hero to save them.

If you handed me a list of bubble shows and you'd ask me to pick which one I'd save, I'd pick Nikita, hands down.

Prompts:
  • The characters of your choosing are on a mission to save someone from Division (inside Division HQ, in a mansion, in a different city or country, etc.).
  • Amanda has the characters of your choosing trapped in the locale of your choosing.
  • A situation requires a disguise of some sort.
Please, no Michael/Nikita in a romantic context.  If they're working together, it's fine, but no romance.

Boardwalk Empire

Characters I Specifically Nominated: Richard, Margaret, Nelson, Chalky

Reference: a fic I wrote for Kink Bingo (Nelson, set pre-series)

Why I Like This Show/Fandom: I was disappointed when Boardwalk Empire didn't get an Emmy for Best Drama this year.  The show does a really great job of focusing on its main characters to understand their motivations, better than, in my opinion, a lot of other character-based dramas.  You don't see every main character in each episode--you'll probably see a quarter of the main cast--but whenever you see them, you'll see the characters struggle with new circumstances.  But there are several character traits and back stories the show hasn't touched on yet, and that's why I find writing for this fandom intriguing.  (May as well write it before it gets Jossed, right?  Even if the show doesn't get a chance to because of cancellation [which isn't happening yet, but still].)

Also, it's a period drama about people living and affected by the underground of 1920s America, especially in Atlantic City, so yeah.

Prompts:
  • Something happens out of the ordinary for any one of these characters on the job or at home.  What happens next?
  • What's a hobby that any of those characters picked up?  How did they pick it up and why do they still do it?
  • Something that happened in the character's past--their relationships with relatives or the environment they grew up in, for example.

Luther

Characters I Specifically Nominated: John, Alice, Mark, Justin

I don't have any examples for this fandom, but I was specifically inspired to write my Eighth Doctor with Suzie Costello series based on Mark/Zoe.

Why I Like This Show/Fandom:
Despite Luther's violent temper, near-psychopathic tendencies and his questionable choices of acquaintances (most notably a serial killer who has managed to evade arrest, at least in season 1), you can't help but root for Luther against his enemies inside and outside the police force.  Also, some seriously odd things must happen between Luther and his allies/friends, am I right?

Prompts:
  • Between series 1 and 2: the aftermaths of Zoe and/or Ian's deaths.  How do any of these characters deal with these deaths?
  • Or, during series 1: One (or more) of these characters notice another character(s) doing something they perceive as suspicious.  How do the suspicious character(s) spy on the other character(s)?  Do the suspicious character(s) confront the other character(s)?
  • What drove [character] to be the way they are today?

Revenge

Why I Like This Show/Fandom:  It's a cheesy nighttime soap set in the Hamptons.  It has the potential to not run out of material and character motives for revenge.  It's also based on The Count of Monte Cristo. What's not to like (yet)?

Also, I'm positive I didn't request Ringer on my form instead, because I get confused between the two shows because of their names.

I haven't written anything for this fandom yet.

Prompts:
  • A party is listed on Guest of a Guest.  Problem is, that party wasn't supposed to be on Guest of a Guest.
  • Yawn, another show/movie is filming in the Hamptons.  It's interfering with my plans, though, and it's virtually impossible for me to get them to [blank].
  • East of Southampton, the Hamptons aren't filled with rich people anymore.

Hopefully this list is clear enough.  If you can't work with my prompts, anything you can write in the fandom you choose is fine.  Alas, I can't help you out in making my requests clearer.
