I’m posting just the AO3 link as I think it’d be a lot of work to post the full thing here again, and I know I’d get the temptation to condense and re-edit my old stuff. TL;DR there was a fannish panic on fic including rape and also I was hounded for the smut I wrote. So I anoned this for a few years. Only issue is the fic not being canonically compliant (Big Finish wrote a Suzie Costello-centric audio which added things to the Torchwood canon well after I wrote this).

Additional notes (originally presented as a footnote before this post was edited 6 February 2015): If you're new to this particular installment of Torchwood, at the start of this miniseries humans are unable to die. Had Gwen died in this clip (not like she would, since she's Russell T Davies's viewpoint character of the show), she would've bled until her body had no blood in it and/or lost the ability to think. It's because of this mysterious curse (and, apparently, someone knows who Torchwood is, but wanking about how people know Torchwood when they're supposed to be a secret agency is another matter) the last 40% of Torchwood Three reunited to find out what is causing, according to this show's news junkets, "Miracle Day." Meanwhile Jack, who was made immortal by the Bad Wolf during his first stint on Davies's Doctor Who, has lost his ability to stay immortal. If Jack gets killed before Miracle Day is solved, he's a goner.

Summary: Was the memory of Tosh being imprisoned in "Fragments" a truth, or was it a fabrication? In 2009, after Torchwood Three's headquarters was blown up, a draft of a report written by Tosh stated she was kidnapped by a "Milton" and imprisoned in a Welsh village for over a year. The story of how she escaped this village and eventually joined Torchwood is as astonishing as Tosh's short life and career with Torchwood.
Author's Note: Although this story is AU, certain canonical facts of Toshiko's life before Torchwood differ between Torchwood episodes. (Show bible? What show bible?) For this story, the time Tosh is imprisoned and when she joined Torchwood is based on "Fragments" as opposed to the year given in Mary's account on Tosh's life in "Greeks Bearing Gifts" as well as the date the TARDIS Index File gives on Tosh's imprisonment (2004).
