Got another announcement tomorrow, but you know what? I know femslashficlets is dead but I don’t ever think I finished my Florence + the Machine or my Lenormand table. I don’t know about the Lenormand table but I think I can work with Florence + the Machine. Don’t even know why I stopped working on those tables a couple of years ago—feeling burned out? Blah blah blah trolls getting in my head? Real life stuff? IDK. (Edit: iddyiddybangbang and I never went back to those tables, lol.) Apparently I also had some fills for the Florence table but I don’t think I posted them to femslashficlets? (Edit: Yes! Here, but probably taking the fics out because their F+TM table has mondegreen lyrics that could be interpreted differently than the actual lyrics.) But yeah, dusting off that table to actually work on said table.

Also I know I missed Comment Bingo’s last round. That was intentional—so many fandoms I follow were touched by real world politics in some way and now I feel like I can do something like Comment Bingo and avoid those fandoms I really don’t want to touch at all. Thinking of mostly shutting down my Pinboard. In part because I prefer AO3’s bookmarking services for fannish stuff, in part because the way I organized Pinboard then is giving me a mental breakdown now when I sort through it, and in part because the guy that runs Pinboard said this. I don’t like what he said, by the way.

Okay, so originally from iddyiddybangbang I was going to write a what if story involving the Raw Women’s Championship from the view of people outside the scene, but with demons. Instead, I ended up doing a bit of worldbuilding from my Unconventional Courtship fic and turned my original IIBB22 idea into a new idea involving demon Dakota Kai, Bayley, and a desire to keep the idea of forming a stable with women in it alive.

While I’m here, I did sign on for spook_me. I did want to do Yuletide, but the fandoms I wanted fic for a few months ago escaped my head for the moment. I’d also have to check and see if they’re still eligible. I do know in part because of the Our Flag Means Death explosion the TV version of What We Do in the Shadows is out. Same with the Femslash Exchange, because I really haven’t been feeling a lot of femslash pairings in the fandoms I’m consuming. Maybe things will change. IDK.

If not, I want to write MCU fic again. Idea is to do an AU of Thor: Love & Thunder but have Gorr be more of the comic book character than the film version. Like, I want a lot of gods scared they’ll die from a blade, which was a thing that bugged me about the movie. We’ll see.

There are two ideas I’ve been thinking about lately and both ideas are for either femslashficlets or iddyiddybangbang.

The first idea comes from me not feeling satisfied completely from what I wrote for some femslash exchanges. The one fic that haunts me the most, as opposed to the others (a Doctor Who fic with River and Romana and a MCU fic with Okoye and Nakia) is a Leverage fic with Tara and Parker. I feel I can expand the fic and have more of a longer narrative with that fic.

The second idea comes from me checking out the Extreme Deadline exchange (a pro wrestling exchange) and never signing up for it for various reasons. There are some requests for Rhea Ripley, and one request suggested a supernatural AU for a faction she’s currently a part of, The Judgment Day. I played with the idea in my head and I came up with “Liv Morgan/Rhea Ripley First Kill AU, where First Kill is that Netflix show, Liv is a slayer, and Rhea is a vampire.” It will not be a high school AU and the environment is still WWE arenas. It’s just the vampire/slayer set up.

The first idea I’m thinking will be the iddyiddybangbang fic and the second ficlets for femslashficlets. I should work on both soon.

Oh, while I’m here: The Unconventional Courtship fic is…happening but not in the way I thought I was going to go. And, after several years, I learned that actually you’re not supposed to leave more than one space after a period for word processing stuff. Don’t know when the convention changed, but it certainly wasn’t when I was in grade school using Word ‘95 and ‘98. I think that’s the only update.

I’ve written some fic. I haven’t posted it here, though. I took some time off from doing the big holiday exchanges fighting self-doubt and I think I can write fic again and not worry about what someone said about my fic on an anon meme two or so years ago.

The fic I wrote I’ll link here later this week. It’s WWE femslash btw. I’m sorry if you’re expecting any Doctor Who fic from me, but I might not write for that fandom ever again. And that’s a me thing, not a “I can’t believe this person is heckling my fic on an anon meme instead of maybe asking to be a beta” thing. I’ll still do the Who Daily newsletter, though.

* The comment_fic fic I wanted to code so it looked more like a Twitter thread? I couldn't get the coding to work, so I gave up on it.

* Not a fic update, but last year I did a fill for the annual Femslash Kink Meme. I won a prize (not my intention, but whatever). I can add three prompts to the meme before it opens this year. Thing is, I've fallen out with a lot of my old fandoms, I don't care for fic for some of the things I consume (e.g. Succession), I don't think people will write for a femslash fandom that's not as active anymore (Steven Universe), and I don't think the thing I'm in love with at the moment (WWE) will even lead to a fill. So figuring out three prompts is dread to me.

* seasonofkink: Still suffering from imposter syndrome.

* iddyiddybangbang: Done with my fic. I should prune through it enough so it makes sense, though.

* femslashficlets tables: I have one idea that comes from my imposter syndrome, actually. I've been laboring on this kink meme prompt between two WWE characters (in NXT, specifically). Thing is, these characters are actually a couple outside their fandom and the fic for them on AO3 is more RPF-ish than actually about their characters. I think this is partially why I'm struggling with this kink meme prompt. So I decided to replace these characters with Steven Universe characters. Teal deer: I'm writing a human AU--something I would've scoffed at years ago because of experiences with certain AU fics I didn't like at the time--with Steven Universe characters as wrestlers. It's probably not going to be kink.

* spook_me: Signed up with WWE as my fandom (again!) and "invader" as my prompt. Last year's special prompt "evil toys" would've worked well for me this year, but whatever. Idea is something something Shayna Baszler and "evil"/Alexa's Playground Alexa Bliss and the Lilly doll something something Shayna's confidence and yes, she's scared of some things. A way to expand on their short feud that ended (at least from my POV) in favor of Eva Marie and Doudrop, pretty much.

1) ...I don't think, at this rate, I'll get even a line off for seasonofkink. Self-doubt, backhanded comments from anonymous jerks, and imposter syndrome haunt me still. There's always amnesty, I know.

2) Still think I'm sitting Yuletide out. To be fair, after doing that exchange for around ten years, I probably should take a break and take my holidays (from Halloween to the winter holidays) back. Maybe I'll consider pinch hits, but other than that, I'm out.

3) I am rolling with my iddyiddybangbang fic, though. Adding more detail in some scenes right now and hoping to be ready for whatever posting date I get next month. The fic is really helping me get over Bayley's injury.

4) Okay, the real reason I'm posting this. Back when I wanted to do everything and I was still active at Fan Flashworks, I forgot to include certain prompts from other comms with my Fan Flashworks AO3 entries. I just realized I really should've included a prompt from comment_fic on LJ for a fic where I wrote Parker (from Leverage) meeting an AU version of herself; some people thought I wrote a fic where Parker had a twin sister. And now I've found another Leverage fic written for fan_flashworks where I can't find the original comment_fic prompt for the moment. I'll try to resolve the issue, but I really should've slowed down and linked to all the prompts I was using for these fan_flashworks entries.
