I grew up crocheting. But I definitely see how it could be not one's thing. Honestly if I didn't learn as a kid, to the point where a lot of stuff is almost innate, I'd probably give up too if I were just trying to pick it up!
And as a crocheter, I gotta admit--there's some FUUUUUGLY stuff done in the name of crochet. XD
