Electric Lady - Janelle Monáe (Song)

My idea of “Electric Lady” is it’s about the narrator flirting with another character (most likely a female android, known here as the “Electric Lady”) who already has other admirers. But the narrator succeeds, and they go off on adventures. And there’s some sort of initiation ceremony near the end of the song. Feel free to take some ideas from my idea of the song, or go with something different! It’s all up to you.
PYNK - Janelle Monáe (Music Video)

(Content notes: sexual content for both song and video, as explained below. Also, link has the “poem” from the Emotion Picture; please ignore that bit for this request.)
“PYNK” is a very sexual song, with a bit of maybe telling off a male character for trying to intrude into a relationship with the narrator and her female partner. But I think a lot about what’s going on in the PYNK Motel with this video. You can focus on the history of the hotel; how it ended up being built in this pink desert, who ran it in the past, and who runs it now. You can focus on the various areas of the motel seen in the video (at least the dining room, the pool, and a room). You can focus on how the other women in the desert ended up at the motel, or how Monáe’s character, Tessa Thompson’s character, and their companions found this motel. What’s Thompson’s character doing while Monáe’s character is alone? You can focus on the scene with the dancers in those pants (and some with the pink baseball bats), or the scenes with Jane and Zen in the desert in the pink sweatshirts. I wouldn’t even mind a story about the cat that briefly appears in the video. I know this video is nonlinear, so don’t feel like you have to include every element (including all the lyrics) into your fanwork.
Out of the Woods - Taylor Swift (Music Video)

The lyrics of “Out of the Woods” don’t really correspond with the video. While the lyrics are about a relationship in the past, the video finds the character Swift plays in it traveling through various landscapes in order to reach another version of herself (a metaphor for self-acceptance). I’d love a fanwork where some of the imagery from the lyrics, like the Polaroid, the paper airplanes, or the accident (Remember when you hit the brakes too soon?/Twenty stitches in a hospital room...) combined with the imagery of the music video. Or you can focus on the music video itself; the wolves that chase Swift’s character in the forest and then are obedient to her; how the landscapes came to be; the journey Swift’s character makes to get to herself; what happens after the video.
Rich - Maren Morris (Music Video)

The song is about a narrator tired of their male partner’s BS, but I love the direction the video goes in. Morris plays this outlaw who’s duping people in this town during the time of the Wild West in the United States. I’d love to see more of the scenes where Morris’s character is confronting the people she’s swindling, and what she’s doing in this town.
New Rules - Dua Lipa (Music Video)

The song for “New Rules” is about a woman refusing to go back to an old relationship. The video compliments the song, but through a very eccentric motel, probably somewhere in Los Angeles. I’d love details on what brought the narrator to this very eccentric motel, and, quite possibly, her attempts to try to fall back into her old habits. Or this motel’s history—what lead the person who founded this motel to start a place where everything is synchronized to presumably dance the pain of failed relationships away. Or even how these crazy dancing rituals started.
break up with your girlfriend i'm bored - Ariana Grande (Music Video)

The song is about a jealous female narrative who wants another person to break up with a male partner. The video, however, has a character played by Grande observing a woman who looks like her doppelgänger at a party, probably somewhere in Los Angeles. The video suggests the narrator wants the doppelgänger to break up with her male partner to be with Grande instead. I have many different interpretations of this video. There’s the straightforward one of Grande rejecting relationships for self love instead, and I imagine, maybe, elements of this party are in Grande’s head—like Grande is actually at this party, thinking of being with a male partner or actually being with one, and something’s holding her back from breaking up. I also see it as Grande’s character literally trying to seduce this doppelgänger at a party because she’s attracted to this doppelgänger in some way. And I feel that you can add sci-fi elements to the narrative; maybe the doppelgänger is a clone, or a robot/android, or something else, and she was created to irritate Grande’s character in some way. You can use any or all of my ideas, or you can use your own take for this music video.
Break Free - Ariana Grande ft. Zedd (Music Video)

I’d love anything that explores this pastiche of sci-fi elements and tropes. Anything about this planet—its history, why some people are imprisoned on it, Grande’s character’s headquarters there, the robots on this planet. Or anything about that spaceship near the end of this video—how this planet is powered by Zedd’s character’s music, the other characters on this ship, where Grande and Zedd’s characters go after the video. Are they both some part of space agency, and what do they do in this space agency?
Blank Space - Taylor Swift (Music Video)

Of course there’s the relationship at the center of the video between Sean and Taylor. I’d love a video on how that particular relationship goes wrong. But I’m also curious about how Taylor resets her home and possessions before the next boyfriend shows up. Replacing or fixing up a car is one thing, but making sure a painting/photo of Sean looks as if it wasn’t torn up or hiding a tree with “SEAN + TAYLOR” and ax marks on it is harder. (In a realistic context. Maybe Taylor has magic powers?) And what happens to the next boyfriend that pulls up to Taylor’s mansion—does he escape, or does Taylor manage to kill him?
