rewrite_a_fic this year as well. TL;DR do I have the time? IDK.
One thing that bothered me was didn’t Eddie tell Dustin to find “freaks” for the Hellfire Club? And that ended with Dustin being beat up by bullies, blamed by The Party for ruining a way to stop Vecna, and…Hellfire never actually reformed. Or we never saw it past a “Hellfire Lives” shirt. So I’d like to see the Hellfire Club actually be rebuilt at Hawkins after Eddie’s death but before most of The Party graduates and especially after the Satanic Panic affected Dungeons and Dragons’s image. That’s another thing I feel the finale didn’t really explore: did people change their mind about Eddie after the “Hawkins Earthquake” or did they continue to defame him after said “earthquake?”
Another thing: I really wish the show took time out to explore how Henry Creel became One/Vecna because “I tried to help this guy with this time travel thing but instead he died, I took the thing, and then I decided to be evil because somehow I knew the evil in all men at eight” feels like a bit of an asspull. So either a writer’s idea of what caused Henry to despise people before finding the thing or an AU where he holds off on being Vecna, starts to distrust people, and then is Vecna. (Or maybe I missed something. IDK.)
