So after reviewing one of my fanvids, a Burn Notice vid with the song “Back of My Car,” I noticed that the song I used sounded like it advocated sexual assault. For the moment, I’ve made the video private on my Vimeo account. (I would delete it, but I forgot my Vimeo password. That’ll be my first order after deleting the links to the video.) I’m also going to delete the links on AO3 and elsewhere leading to the video. I have no idea if I’ll be able to reupload the video with a less creepy song, but I’ll see what I can do.

My apologies if the video offended you in any way.

My plan originally was to have everything I recently locked in a post reposted to DW and LJ this weekend. I have only posted one reposted thing to my journal, a Nine/Ten/Rose fic from about five years ago. (I plan to delete the post because of some AO3-related things.) Also, instead I have moved on to still adding and deleting icons for fandoms I can find non-watermarked icons for.

I should stop watching YouTube and post more of the things I locked so I can delete that one post. You probably can’t see this Sasha Banks icon on LJ, but I’ve been sucked into wrestling now, especially since other sports took a quarantine break. No, I don’t want to promise wrestling fic because when I make promises I can’t keep them and I look dumb for making promises.

1) I totally meant to sign up for intoabar earlier, but I was sick most of this week. I mean, I had my signup done in advance and everything. But it’s done.

2) Between those ficlet tables and Jukebox, I’m still working.

1) I have to be honest. I just haven’t been inspired to write recently. I have ideas, but I just haven’t had the heart to put my ideas on paper. And maybe some of those ideas are way too big for me to execute, which is why I can’t get anything done. That and I feel like my fandom interests have shifted, a bit. The fandoms I once leaned on to write short drabbles? I’m not interested in them at all.

1.5) That said, I think I have some ideas I’d like to write about, finally. I signed up for Be the First, expecting to write for a terrible movie with negative queer tropes in it, A Girl Named Grace. And then maybe I’d write something about this new show on Netflix, Gentefied, about the F/F couple in it. But I drew blanks on both fandoms. Then, looking for stuff on YouTube related to Raven’s Home (another show I’m drawing blanks on), I stumbled across Raven-Symoné’s video for “Backflip,” where she’s programming her ideal boyfriend through a Blackberry phone, and the oddness of the situation in the video finally clicked for me. I’m also thinking about writing some short things for a new podcast (like, it just premiered yesterday), The Left Right Game, about an American-British journalist (also of Caribbean decent) who disappears while on assignment in America covering the aforementioned game.

In short, I think I’ll write about “Backflip” and maybe The Left Right Game for Be the First.

2) To also be honest, I’ve jettisoned all other exchanges happening right now for Jukebox, and writing for an exchange three months into a year feels weird to me. Uh...I think I’ll nominate nearly what I nominated last year and bring back something nominated years ago. Haven’t seen a lot of more recent music videos I’d like to see fic from in the past year, alas.

3) This is really why I’m writing this. I just got a comment today on my fic “The Story of Aphrodite and Persephone” that someone copied the fic and put it on an Android app. I don’t think the app is also an iOS app so I can make certain it’s on the app. I also don’t know if other people have been affected or if it’s just me. But I trust the comment. I sent an email to the app developer. We’ll see what happens next.

I’m still coming up blank on writing about fannish stuff. I guess it’s because I’m fallen out of love with some canons and others are still on hiatus. So I’m still focused on non-fannish stuff off of Dreamwidth and AO3 and such. Oh well.

I do see something interesting I’d love to participate in, though: marchmetamatterschallenge. I’m probably not going to write anything new for this challenge, but I’m going to finally transfer some of my old meta that I’ve written for this journal as well as other communities such as Het Reccers on LJ to AO3. It’s probably high time to move especially the Het Reccers stuff to AO3, since I can’t edit it because of that journal’s LJ settings.

What’s done? Yuletide. Have to stay mum about it somewhat, obviously.

What I’m probably not going to intentionally finish in time: HC Bingo, probably. Early fall was shitty to me mental health-wise and physical health-wise, and I’m not in the mood to potentially write hurt to finish a bingo. Maybe next year. That said, I’m scaling back on fanficcy things to work on things in my real-life, so IDK if I’ll do HC Bingo.

What I’ll probably finish: my femslashficlets quote table, and will there be one coming up soon? Yeah, those. For femslashficlets, I have my heart set on doing missing scenes for That’s So Raven/Raven’s Home, even if Disney Channel shows are really small fanfic fandoms on FFN and AO3.

I can’t reveal exactly what I’ve been doing with femslashafterdark. But yeah, I was doing stuff for that exchange.

Anyway, since I’m done with that exchange, and I’m preparing to nominate things for femslashex (including some stuff I could’ve nominated/requested for Femslash After Dark? *headdesk*), this post is a semi-annual reminder about me buying the latest Diary of River Song audio, and that I’ll probably have a review up by next Saturday.

Femslash After Dark caused me to put my MIB WIP on the backburner, but I’ll get back to that. Probably going to write two or three more chapters, and then I want to maybe get to either a series of ideas or a sequel to something else I’ve written. If I do that, more on that later.

Still working on Smut Swap. Also gearing up for Jukebox. Just posted a Femslash Ficlets Drabble here. (For the moment, the table is not done because of exchanges, and I’m burned out by Black Lighting and Doctor Who femslash at the moment. Black Lightning because I hated the last few episodes of the season, and Doctor Who, I guess, because I wasn’t moved to create anything while Series 11 was running. Yes, not even pre-Series 11 stuff. If anything, I’m out in regards to requesting Anissa/Grace for anything now.) I know, not terribly exciting, but I tend to engross myself in writing projects when not attending to real life or Who Daily.

Also not a terribly exciting thing, but it just hit me: I’m going to re-tag my recs by comm or challenge, and dump that singular Caulfrax link in my sticky post. Eventually I’ll overhaul that sticky post. Until then, what am I doing for Smut Swap, aahhhhh.

I’ve decided to remain on Tumblr, but I won’t be using it anymore. I haven’t been false flagged for anything, but I want to preserve a few Tumblrs I run so other people can still see them after 17 December. I also won’t emphasize my Tumblr on Dreamwidth or other sites anymore.

On that note, I have managed to grab the HTML for some recs I’ve made on Tumblr (that were only on Tumblr, not IFTTT feeds posting to Tumblr). I’ll repost these recs here.

And, since some of those recs are Yuletide based, I’m going to go off on a tangent here and say that this year, most likely, I’ll do recs after author reveals. It’ll allow me to avoid having to constantly edit posts for archive-locked stuff, and I don’t like linking to archive-locked stuff. And I can also comb through my recs to have a smaller rec list.

I have no idea what took me so long to unlock and post to spook_me and AO3—I guess a combination of work tasks, Yuletide prep, my new Who Daily schedule?
