Fanfiction header template
Jan. 30th, 2014 01:29 pmBack in 2014 I created a template based on
hope's Fanfiction Header Builder after it went offline for some while. The main change I made was to not include the LJ-cut tags that were included in the original Header Builder, since LJ-cut tags only work on LJ. So if you want to add a cut to your fic, follow the instructions for your blogging platform (e.g., if you're posting on Dreamwidth, cut your fic with the <*cut> or <*cut text="example"> tags). Also, I didn't include any "highlight for warnings" code. I would actually suggest cutting warnings since warnings codes don’t work on mobile devices.
Other than that, the template's straightforward. You can choose what parts of the header you'd like to put with your entry. And you can modify the spaces for other links, such as archives that don't crosspost to different platforms.
I briefly took this template down because I took comments the wrong way when this was first posted, and I was ashamed of what I did. I wanted to post the template in one Dreamwidth post but decided not to. I also wanted to expand this template for other fanworks, but I wouldn’t know how where to start. But the template is back up now. I also elected to put it back up in case some people get security errors from
hope’s site (Duck Duck Go’s browser says the site has okay, but not great, security. IDK, take it to Duck Duck Go.)
Oh, and one more thing: I think the text box can actually be clicked on in mobile now in part because of software upgrades to Dreamwidth, so the comment with the header (text only) in it has been deleted.
On my end, I don’t require credit if you use this template.
Special thanks to
facetofcathy and her textarea code here
